Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) This course will prepare students to perform routine administrative duties in the medical offices and clinics. Students will be instructed on proper telephone procedures, how to greet patients, update and file patient medical records, fill out insurance forms and handle correspondence. Other topics will include scheduling appointments and arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services. Various office equipment will be covered. This course will cover an extensive list of common terminology used in the typical medical office. After successful completion of the course (56 hours), each student will receive a certificate of completion from PMTC and will be provided with a test schedule to take the certification exam given by the National Health Career Association (NHA). Online Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) We are now offering the option to learn the Pharmacy Tech curriculum at home with a live instructor. Our "hybrid" course is a combination of online learning and 2 classroom meetings for hands-on skills with an instructor. This course provides the student with the skills that are important when assisting the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications. Students will be trained on how to interpret prescription hard copies, pharmacy calculations, pharmacy laws, compounding, and packaging of medications. Students will be provided with the information on how to become a registered technician. Advanced Nursing Assistant In this course NA’s striving to work in an advanced care setting will learn the technical skills needed to provide exceptional care, compassion, proper communication, and critical thinking skills to function safely and effectively in a healthcare environment. Topics covered include wound care, sterile technique, IV care, pre-op/intra-op/post-op phases, catheter care, ostomy care, nutrition, and respiratory care. Students will receive a certificate of completion for advanced training in the nursing assistant field of study. This advanced knowledge will help students become stronger candidates for employment in acute care facilities such as hospitals and clinics.
