ABOUT PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL TRAINING CENTER Professional Medical Training Center (PMTC) is a growing allied health school that focuses on training and educating adults so that they can enter into the medical field. PMTC has campuses in Florence, SC and Conway, SC. Our training center began when our Executive Program Coordinator, Mrs. W. Sitton, LPN was working as a nurse and saw the need for competent trained professionals in the healthcare field. She wanted women and men, young and mature to have the opportunity to begin a career or get further education in the healthcare industry and excel with the proper instruction. At Professional Medical Training Center we are committed to helping our students develop to their fullest potential in the healthcare field of their choice. Our desire is to equip our students with the necessary skills and education to excel as trained, competent professionals in the overall healthcare field. - EKG Technician | PMTC
EKG Technician (CET) This course provides an overview of basic cardiovascular terminology, anatomy and physiology. The course focuses on the proper placement of electrocardiogram (EKG) leads and maintenance of equipment to obtain an accurate 12-Lead EKG. Students learn to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias. The course also outlines responsibilities of ECG/EKG Technicians and provides clinical laboratory opportunity to develop entry-level skills. After successful completion of the 8 week course (56 Hours), each student will receive a certificate of completion from PMTC and will be provided with the appropriate application and test schedule to take the national certification exam given by the National Health Career Association, given at PMTC once a month. *Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED. *Must have proof of BLS/CPR Certification before Certificate of Completion will be issued. - Hybrid Central Sterile Processing Te... | PMTC
Hybrid Central Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST) This hybrid course is a combination of virtual learning with a live instructor and in person lab days. There will be 2 lab days scheduled at the end of the course at a PMTC campus. This program is designed to prepare students for employment as Central Sterile Processing Technicians. Also referred to as, Certified Registered Central Service Technicians (CRCST). Instruction will focus on work in a sterile processing department and central service location, working as a team to maintain sterilization and storage, learning microbiology and infection control and apply principles and practices of sterile processing and decontamination. Upon completion, students will be able to take the certification exam for sterile processing technicians, offered by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). CRCST certification requires that you pass the certification exam and complete 400 hours of hands-on experience in a CS department. These hours can be completed before testing or within 6 months of passing the exam. *Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED. *Must have proof of BLS/CPR Certification before Certificate of Completion will be issued. Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) This course will prepare students to perform routine administrative duties in the medical offices and clinics. Students will be instructed on proper telephone procedures, how to greet patients, update and file patient medical records, fill out insurance forms and handle correspondence. Other topics will include scheduling appointments and arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services. Various office equipment will be covered. This course will cover an extensive list of common terminology used in the typical medical office. After successful completion of the course (56 hours), each student will receive a certificate of completion from PMTC and will be provided with a test schedule to take the certification exam given by the National Health Career Association (NHA). Fast Track Nursing Assistant (CNA) Take the nursing assistant class is half the time! This course covers the physical comfort and safety functions specific to a Nursing Assistant, including modules on patient care procedures for geriatric and adult patients, patient rights, laws providing patient privacy & confidentiality, infection control, nutrition, physical and social support, legal and ethical considerations, and documentation. The course is taught to provide and prepare students for the state exam required to obtain certification from the state of South Carolina. Online Medical Coder (CPC) Welcome to online coding! Our goal is to provide you with an exceptional online learning experience. You will learn with a live instructor from the comfort and safety of your own home. This course prepares students to code patients' medical records correctly and optimize reimbursement for a full range of medical services. Students are introduced to several techniques for finding and applying the correct codes in today's standard coding systems. Topics covered include current procedural terminology, international classification of diseases, clinical modification, and health care produce coding system, resource-based relative valve scale, and insurance form. This program curriculum provides each student with the knowledge required by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) to be eligible for certification. This is a 16-week course (112 hours). *Students must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED. *Must have proof of BLS CPR certification before certificate of completion will be issued. Medical Coder (CPC) This course prepares students to code patients’ medical records correctly and optimize reimbursement for a full range of medical services.
