Central Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST) This program is designed to prepare students for employment as Central Sterile Processing Technicians. Also referred to as, Certified Registered Central Service Technicians (CRCST). Instruction will focus on work in a sterile processing department and central service location, working as a team to maintain sterilization and storage, learning microbiology and infection control and apply principles and practices of sterile processing and decontamination. Upon completion, students will be able to take the certification exam for sterile processing technicians, offered by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). CRCST certification requires that you pass the certification exam and complete 400 hours of hands-on experience in a CS department. Online EKG Technician (CET) Welcome to our online EKG Technician program! This course allows you 6 months to complete what is the equivalency of our regular 8 week program online. Now you can study to become a certified EKG Technician at YOUR own pace! Our "hybrid" course is a combination of online learning and 3 classroom meetings for one-on-one hands on skills instruction. This flexible schedule includes online learning modules through a student portal with instructor guidance. The course focuses on the heart anatomy and physiology, how the heart works, performing EKG's and interpreting the various heart rhythms. Students that successfully complete the EKG Technician course will be eligible to take the certification exam given by the National Health Career Association. Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician (CET & CPT) This course provides working knowledge of basic cardiovascular terminology, learning to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias, collecting blood and other specimens with an emphasis on patient safety, quality assurance, and universal standard precautions. By having the skills and certifications for both an EKG Tech and a Phlebotomist this will allow for more job opportunities within the medical field. Advanced Nursing Assistant ​ In this course NA’s striving to work in an advanced care setting will learn the technical skills needed to provide exceptional care, compassion, proper communication, and critical thinking skills to function safely and effectively in a healthcare environment. Topics covered include wound care, sterile technique, IV care, pre-op/intra-op/post-op phases, catheter care, ostomy care, nutrition, and respiratory care. Students will receive a certificate of completion for advanced training in the nursing assistant field of study. This advanced knowledge will help students become stronger candidates for employment in acute care facilities such as hospitals and clinics. Fast Track Nursing Assistant (CNA) Take the nursing assistant class is half the time! This course covers the physical comfort and safety functions specific to a Nursing Assistant, including modules on patient care procedures for geriatric and adult patients, patient rights, laws providing patient privacy & confidentiality, infection control, nutrition, physical and social support, legal and ethical considerations, and documentation. The course is taught to provide and prepare students for the state exam required to obtain certification from the state of South Carolina.
