Online Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) We are now offering the option to learn the Pharmacy Tech curriculum at home with a live instructor. Our "hybrid" course is a combination of online learning and 2 classroom meetings for hands-on skills with an instructor. This course provides the student with the skills that are important when assisting the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications. Students will be trained on how to interpret prescription hard copies, pharmacy calculations, pharmacy laws, compounding, and packaging of medications. Students will be provided with the information on how to become a registered technician. Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) This course will prepare students to perform routine administrative duties in the medical offices and clinics. Students will be instructed on proper telephone procedures, how to greet patients, update and file patient medical records, fill out insurance forms and handle correspondence. Other topics will include scheduling appointments and arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services. Various office equipment will be covered. This course will cover an extensive list of common terminology used in the typical medical office. Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) This program is designed to teach students the skills necessary for employment as a CMA in a medical facility, such as hospitals, clinics, or doctor’s offices. A qualified CMA is capable of performing a wide range of duties, thus assisting the physician in many ways. Clinical duties include: asepsis and infection control, taking patient histories and vital signs, performing CPR and First Aid, preparing patients for procedures, assisting the physician with examinations and treatments, collecting specimens and administering and explaining medications, as directed by the physician.
